Marcel Nguyen (1987- ) is a two-times Olympics silver medalist gymnast born in Munich to a German mother and Vietnamese father. His placing in the all-around men's gymnastics competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London was the first time in over 3/4 of a century that any German gymnast has won a medal in the all-around gymnastics category.
Nguyen began gymnastics at the age of four and at the age of seven joined TSV Unterhaching. In 2005, he won the junior national championships parallel bars in Germany. For two consecutive years, Nguyen took home the gold medal in parallel bars at the European Games in 2010 and 2011. At the Summer Olympics in 2012, Nguyen took home the silver medals in both the parallel bars and the all-around men's gymnastics competitions.
