Mayko Nguyen


Mayko Nguyễn (1980-    ) is a Canadian actress of film and television.

Born to Vietnamese parents on April 19, 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia, she studied acting at the University of British Columbia.  In 2004, Mayko Nguyen was cast in a supporting role on her first feature film, Going the Distance, a teen comedy starring Christopher Jacot and Jason Priestly.  That same year she was cast as one of the original cast members in the role of Mayko Tran on the television science fiction series, ReGenesis, which ran for four seasons.  The success of ReGenesis turned her into a household name in Canada.  In 2007, she was nominated for a Gemini Award, Canada's equivalent to an Emmy, for Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series.  Mayko Nguyen has also been a cast member or had recurring roles in various other Canadian television series such as 11 Cameras (2006), Rent-a-Goalie (2006), The Listener (2009), which starred fellow Vietnamese-Canadian actress Mylène Dinh-Robic, Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures (2010), Rookie Blue (2011), Against the Wall (2011) and Cracked (2013).  Mayko Nguyen currently is seen weekly on the popular Canadian television science fiction series, Killjoys, in the role of Delle Seyah Kendry, a role she had originated since 2015.  In 2016, she had a recurring role as Ashley Sutherland on 5 episodes of the popular Canadian anthology horror television series, Slasher.

Mayko Nguyen has starred in 2 American television movies, Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy (2006) for Lifetime Network and Princess (2008) for ABC Family Network.  She has also had supporting roles in several other feature films including Lie With Me (2005), This Movie Is Broken (2010) and Below Her Mouth (2016).
