Quach Ngoc Ngoan

Quách Ngọc Ngoan (1986-    ) is a famous Vietnamese actor and former male model.

Born and raised in the town of Cà Mau located in the Mekong Delta region of Southern Vietnam, he is the third eldest in a family of four children.  His parents earned a living working in various fields of agriculture that ranged from planting rice to farm raising shrimp.  After high school, Quach Ngoc Ngoan relocated to Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 to attend Trường Đại Học Sân Khấu - Điện Ảnh Thành Phố Hồ Chí Minh (Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Dramatic Arts).  Blessed with good looks and a natural knack in theater, he was often selected for lead roles in college play productions.  In 2007, he landed himself a supporting role on the television mini-series, Chuyện Tình Công Ty Quảng Cáo starring Bình Minh, Vũ Thu Phương and Diễm My.  The following year Quach Ngoc Ngoan landed another supporting role in the television mini-series, Cuộc Chiến Hoa Hồng, starring Lê Khánh, Trương Quỳnh Anh, Khương Ngọc, Hữu Châu and Helen Thanh Đào.  Also in 2008, Quach Ngoc Ngoan entered Vietnam's national model search competition, Siêu Mẫu Việt Nam, and took home the silver prize medal award.  Although he didn't win the competition, placing in second with a silver medal award did give him enough exposure to land himself a contract with a major modeling agency in Ho Chi Minh City which led to a successful career as a male fashion model.  While working as a fashion model for various major clothing lines and brand names, Quach Ngoc Ngoan eased his way into furthering his career as an actor.

The year 2010 would prove to be a breakthrough stellar year for Quach Ngoc Ngoan as an actor.  After landing another supporting role in the hit television comedy series, Kính Thưa Osin, which starred Phương Thanh, Hoài Linh and Hồng Ánh, he was cast as the lead in a pair of critically acclaimed and commercial blockbuster feature films, Long Thành Cầm Giả Ca, costarring Nhật Kim Anh and Khát Vọng Thăng Long, costarring Vũ Đình Toàn.  Both films would go on to win several accolades at the 2010 annual Cánh Diều Vàng Awards (Golden Kite Awards) including best picture, best screenplay and best art direction for Long Thành Cầm Giả Ca and the silver medal for best picture, best director for Lưu Trọng Ninh and best actor for Vũ Đình Toàn for Khát Vọng Thăng Long.  Many of his fans felt that Quach Ngoc Ngoan had been unfairly snubbed from the the Golden Kite Awards given such overwhelming critical praise on both performances.  Despite not being recognized with accolades for his work on the top two feature films of 2010, Quach Ngoc Ngoan remained undaunted and has since expressed on several interviews thoughts of gratitude for having starred in Long Thành Cầm Giả Ca and Khát Vọng Thăng Long, both of which have become known as his signature roles that helped solidify his position as an actor in Vietnamese cinema.

Quach Ngoc Ngoan has since starred in numerous television mini-series and made-for-television movies such as Nghe Trà (2011) with Minh Anh, Bebe Phạm and Thu HằngHoàng Tử Ăn Mày (2011) with Vũ Thu Phương, Công Ninh and Hữu NghĩaNgoại Tình (2012) with Mạnh Hùng and Hoàng ĐiệpVòng Tròn 12 Số (2013) with Kim XuânChí Tài and Lý HảiNgọc Bích Tình Yêu (2013) with Quang TuấnKim Tuyến and Hữu TiếnSăn Vàng (2014) with Trương Quỳnh Anh, Lê Văn Dũng and Tùng DươngCông Chúa Nhỏ (2014) with Kim Xuân, Trang Nhung and Thanh BìnhVàng Trắng (2014) with Quang Tuấn, Phan Như Thảo and Đại Nghĩa and Hãy Mang Em Ra Biển (2015) with Việt Trinh.  On the silver screen, he has also had tremendous success starring in many feature films.  In 2014, he won a Mai Vàng Award (Golden Orchid Award) for best actor for his work in the feature film, Hiệp Sĩ Mù, which also starred Vietnamese pop singer Đàm Vĩnh Hưng.  Among his other popular feature films include Bước Khẽ Tới Hạnh Phúc (2012) starring Tinna Tình and Kathy UyênCát Nóng (2013) starring Kim Tuyến, Phương Thanh and Nhã PhươngHiệp Sĩ Guốc Vông (2013) directed by Nguyễn Chánh Tín and starring Nguyễn Phi HùngPhi Thanh Vân and Chí Tài, Bước Khẽ Đến Hạnh Phúc (2014) starring Ngân Khánh, Tỷ Phú Chăn Vịt (2014) starring Nhật CườngCát Phượng, Hiếu Hiền and Tâm Tít and Mỹ Nhân (2015) starring Kim Hiền and Hà Việt Dũng.
