Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc (1990-    ) often credited simply as Lan Ngọc, is a beautiful Vietnamese film actress.

Born on April 4, 1990 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc is the middle child in a family of three children.  She has an older sister and a younger brother.  After graduating from high school, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc attended the Saigon Conservatory of Dramatic Arts (Đại Học Sân khấu – Điện ảnh, TPHCM).  During her sophomore year, in 2009 she landed a small role in her first television mini-series, Gia Đình Phép Thuật, starring Viet Anh, Kim Xuan, Hoa Hiep, Ly Thanh Thao and Van Trang.  This would be followed with another small part in the television movie, Người Đẹp Bình Dương, that same year.  In 2010, she was cast in what has been considered as her breakthrough film role as Nương in Cánh Đồng Bất Tận (The Floating Lives) costarring Dustin Nguyen, Do Thi Hai Yen and Tang Thanh Ha.  She would go on to win two of the most coveted accolades in the Vietnamese film industry, the Cánh Diều Vàng (Golden Kite Award) and the Mai Vàng (Golden Orchid Award) for Best Actress in a Feature Film of 2010.  Her next two acting projects were a starring role in the television mini-series, Mệnh Lệnh Hoa Hồng (2010) with Gia Bao and Nguyet Anh and a supporting role as Xuân in the comedy blockbuster feature film, Long Ruồi (2011) starring Thai Hoa, Tinna Tinh, Khuong Ngoc and Phi Thanh Van.  Despite the enormous success Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc had achieved in film and television within a short period of time with all the signs of a promising acting career underway, she decided to take a break from acting for a couple of years as she was determined to finish college.  She has since publicly admitted in several interviews that she had made a poor decision in going into hiatus from films at such an early stage in her career.

After earning her bachelor's of fine arts degree from the Saigon Conservatory of Dramatic Arts at the end of the year in 2012, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc wanted very much to resume her acting career at full force.  Unfortunately, after an absence of almost two years it seemed as if the Vietnamese film and television industries had forgotten about her with few offerings for roles.  Undaunted, she forged ahead in pursuit of her dreams of a career in films and television.  To re-familiarize herself with the general audience, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc settled for supporting roles in various light comedy feature films such as Tèo Em (2013) starring Thai Hoa, Ngoc Diep and Johnny Tri Nguyen and Xui Mà Hên (Crazy Lucky) (2014) starring Nhung Kate, Hieu Hien and Tan Beo.  Finally in 2013, she was cast in the lead role of a serious Korean feature film, Thuy (The original title in Korean was An-nyung Thuy).  Written and directed by up and coming Korean filmmaker, Jae-han Kim, Thuy is a poignant depiction of the life of a Korean man's Vietnamese widow living in a small island village of South Korea and her struggles to triumphantly find justice for her husband's murder.  With less than a month to learn the lines verbatim in Korean, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc delighted film critics both in Korea and Vietnam with an incredibly believable performance in Thuy which again brought about international acclaim for the actress surpassing the success of her breakthrough role in Cánh Đồng Bất Tận nearly five years prior.  For Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, 2014 proved to be a stellar year as she rounded out the year with another unforgettable performance in a supporting role as Lua in the highly rated Vietnamese television mini-series, Vừa Đi Vừa Khóc, starring Minh Hang, Luong Manh Hai, Nha Phuong and Phuong Thanh.

In recent years, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc has risen to be one of the top leading ladies of Vietnamese cinema and television.  Feature films in which Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc had received top billing include Bên Nhau Trọn Đời (2015) costarring Hong Dang, Tang Thanh Ha and Tran Bao Son, Trúng Số (Jackpot) (2015), a comedy directed and produced by leading actor, Dustin Nguyen with his wife, Bebe Pham, costarring Chi Tai, Kim Xuan and Phi Thanh Van, Tấm Cám Chuyện Chưa Kể (2016) directed by costar Ngo Thanh Van and also featuring cast members Ngoc Trai, Hieu Hien and veteran Cai Luong actress Ngoc Giau, Phim Trường Ma (2016) costarring Le Khanh and Ha Viet Dung and Găng Tay Đỏ (2016) opposite actor Quang Su. On the small screen, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc has taken the lead roles in mini-series such as Truy Tìm Hung Thủ (2015) costarring Than Thuy Ha and Duc Hai, Nhân Tình Lạc Lối (2016) costarring Chi Bao and Huynh Dong and Nguyệt Thực (2016) costarring Duc Thinh, Don Nguyen and Tuong Vy.
