One of the things I've noticed since I was a child is that whenever anyone takes interest in any culture other than his or her own, the initial cause has to do with recognizing famous individuals who came from that particular culture and celebrating his or her achievements whether it be in mass media, the arts, sports, etc. Such accomplished individuals are known as celebrities. This blog is a celebration of Vietnamese celebrities in four different categories; celebrities of Vietnam prior to 1975, overseas Vietnamese celebrities within the Vietnamese communities worldwide since 1975, international celebrities of Vietnamese descent, and celebrities of Vietnam today. A new featured celebrity of the day will be selected and announced each morning. A tribute and full biography of the featured celebrity will be posted on the respective page of the category the celebrity is listed under.
