Quốc Anh (1948-2021) was a famous overseas Vietnamese singer.
He was born in Vietnam on October 2, 1948 to a Vietnamese mother and a Martinican father originally from the island of Martinique of the French West Indies in the Carribean Sea. Prior to the Fall of Saigon, Quốc Anh had served in the military of South Vietnam known as ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam). In 1977, he left Vietnam to resettle in Normandie, France. A year later, Quốc Anh embarked on his career as a professional Vietnamese singer for the overseas Vietnamese community in Paris. In 1983, Quốc Anh along with other artists including
Julie Quang,
Hương Lan and
Thanh Mai appeared on the very first volume of
Paris By Night, produced by
Thúy Nga. On the first volume of
Paris By Night, Quốc Anh performed
Tình Có Như Không, a song written by
Nhật Trường. Throughout the 1980s and well into the early 1990s he remained as one of the most popular performers on the
Paris By Night series

Toward the end of the 1980s decade, Quốc Anh resettled to Southern California. For many years, he headlined weekly at various Vietnamese nightclubs and cabarets throughout Orange County, California such as

Tao Nhân and
Can Club. In the early 1990s, Quốc Anh appeared on volumes 6, 7 and 8 of the popular
Hollywood Night video series produced by
Mây Productions performing the following songs,
Tiếng Dân Chài (written by
Phạm Đình Chương) as a quartet with
Như Mai,
Công Thành, and
Tuấn Đạt,
Tiếng Hò Miền Nam (written by
Phạm Duy) as a quartet with Công Thành, Tuấn Đạt and

Lối Về Xóm Nhỏ (written by Trịnh Hưng) as a quartet with Công Thành, Tuấn Đạt and
Sơn Ca and his most popular,

Trường Hải), his solo. In 2000, Quốc Anh made his return on the
Paris By Night stage performing in a comedy sketch along with the late
Kiều Linh, Mỹ Huyền and
Nguyễn Cao Kỳ Duyên. Quốc Anh has formed his own music label,
Quốc Anh Productions, which has released over ten of his solo studio albums. He has performed at live shows for overseas Vietnamese audiences all over the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Among his most requested songs at live performances include

Quốc Anh had fathered two grown children. His last studio album,
Bên Đời Phiêu Lãng, was released on May 25, 2017 held at the
Majesty Restaurant in Orange County, California. Quốc Anh passed away on February 10, 2021 after being stricken with Covid-19.
